Deanery Synod
Our March Deanery Synod was held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st March at North Barrow Village Hall.

At the meeting various options for the pastoral reorganisation of the Deanery were presented. A paper outlining these options can be downloaded along with a series of maps showing the options and spreadsheets providing the data on which analysis of the options is based.

Our November Deanery Synod was held on Thursday 10th November at North Barrow Village Hall.

Deanery Synod
Our September Deanery Synod was held at 9.30am on Saturday 3rd September at North Barrow Village Hall. This was an extra meeting to help prepare for the pastoral reorganisation resulting from the loss of one and a half stipendiary clergy posts in the Deanery.
​
The meeting consisted of a series of workshops and a a brief outline of the process and timetable for formulating a plan for pastoral reorganisation in the Deanery. The PowerPoint shown at the meeting can be downloaded below and comprehensive Minutes can be found opposite.

Deanery Synod
Our June Deanery Synod was held at 7.30pm on Wednesday 8th June at North Barrow Village Hall. This was our first in-person meeting since the beginning of the pandemic.
​
The theme of the meeting was "Resourcing the Future of Ministry in our Deanery" and considered the planning for the future deployment of stipendiary clergy in the Deanery. PowerPoints shown at the meeting can be downloaded below.

Due to the continuing concerns over the Coronavirus, our March 2022 Synod was again be held on Zoom at 7.30pm on Tuesday March 29th. The Agenda can be downloaded by clicking on the icon to the right.

Our main speaker was Julia Hill, the Diocesan Head of Deanery and Parish Support, reflecting on the importance of Enabling Ministries in the local church.
​

November 2021
Deanery Synod
Due to the continuing concerns over the Coronavirus, our November Synod was held on Zoom at 7.30pm on Thursday November 4th. The Agenda can be downloaded by clicking on the icon to the right.

Our main speaker was The Revd Andy Gray, the Diocesan Faith Sharing Enabler, who spoke about "Talking Jesus in the Rural Context".
​
We also commissioned two new lay pioneers and heard from our Schools Chaplain.

Deanery Synod
Due to the continuing Coronavirus restrictions the June 2021 Deanery Synod was held on Zoom on Wednesday June 2nd. After the opening worship led by Jay Greene, our Schools Chaplain, Wendy Hester, updated us on the work she has been doing in our three secondary schools.
​
Our main speaker was The Revd Jane Chamberlain, the Head of Ministry for Mission in the Diocese, who helped explore what our churches may look like post-pandemic, focussing on the draft paper "Discerning Ministries - a Vision for Local Ministry" (a copy can be download by clicking on the icon opposite).

Deanery Synod
Due to the Coronavirus restrictions the March 2021 Deanery Synod on Tuesday March 2nd was held on Zoom. The meeting elected the Deanery's Officers and Standing Committee for the remainder of this session.
​
The Synod also broke into small groups to discuss the following questions: "What was one good thing about your Parish in the last year?"; "What are the future hopes and challenges for your Benefice?"; and "What do you think this year's Deanery focus should be?".
